Although the strength, defense, and speed of the monstrous forms are not on par with Attack, Barrier, and Footwork techniques, they are greater than baseline, and each form contains a unique ability based on the monster it was derived from. The ability works by undergoing a lengthy ritual, where the user etches the essence of a deceased being into their soul. They lock the form to one of the Gifts, which only differ in name. This ability is not limited to mindless beasts: a user could kill and steal the Bloodline ability of a Cultivator, and etching that essence onto a Gift. The user may only have four Gifts at a time, and excessive damage dealt to a Gift will result in its destruction. Finally, with Second Style, the user could use two Gifts simultaneously, gaining the unique ability of each one.
